My name is Naomi (she/her) and I am a Licensed Social Worker, mental health therapist, and healing companion. I work with people who are seeking connection, liberation, empowerment, and a deeper sense of themselves.
I attended Indiana University Bloomington and obtained a B.S. in Psychology, then a MSW from the University of Pittsburgh. My first clinical position out of school was working as a substance use counselor at methadone clinics, it was a very humbling and eye-opening experience. From there, I moved into general practice for a time before eventually deciding to step away from large agencies to build something more meaningful to me on my own terms.
Blossom Trauma Therapy is my passion project that has reconnected me with my roots, my aspirations, and fulfillment in the work I do. As a trauma survivor myself, I know how painful and and rewarding the healing process can be. I feel honored that I am invited to sit with people in their darkest moments, to celebrate together in their victories, to bear witness to their resiliency and commitment to themselves. I also work with issues like substance use, grief, relationship conflicts, etc., to respect how trauma and other mental health issues can intersect and influence one another.
I approach therapy holistically to respect the stories, identities, and lived experiences that have shaped us into who we are today. As a multiracial and transgender woman, I understand the importance of being seen in your entirety and I hold a strong commitment to affirming care. I often work with LGBTQIA2S+ clients, but my practice is also a space for anyone seeking support regardless of their identity or background. I would describe my therapeutic style as flexible, collaborative, and empathetic. There is no room for judgment here, only safety and authentic connection.
Outside of work, I live in Colorado with my cat, Juno (horrible roommate, excellent daughter). I’ve moved around the country a handful of times and Colorado has felt the most like home so far. I love music, art, hiking, video games, fashion, and spending time with friends. My current goals are mostly professional: pursuing EMDR training, gaining licensure in Illinois, and creating more balance between work and rest.
I think it’s an amazing thing for anybody to consider or participate in therapy, it’s worthy of pride in my book. It may take some time but I hope that we are able to build a bond that truly facilitates your healing process. I am grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside you on your healing journey!
